Cortez Towing corona California

Complaint: On October 25 2008 My PARENTS car was towed out of my apartment complex in riverside around 3 in the morning. It was “suppositively”” illegally parked in a fire lane

Address: yet there were no signs where i was parked and the curb was not painted in order to identify a fire lane. It was next to many other unmarked parking spots and people had been parking there since i moved in a few months prior. To my dismay i came out to the lot to leave for school the next morning and my car along with all my homework and study guides for the test were in the car. I thought for sure it was stolen. So i called the police and that was when they informed me that my car had been towed by “”Cortez Towing””. So i took it upon myself to take pictures of the area i was parked in order to show that it was never illegally parked. I then call my landlord and ask why this happened and she proceeded to tell me that the security guard must have called it in because the owner wasn’t pleased about the other cars being parked there

Website: not to metion they have a bad repore. Unlucky for them the persons who car they illegally towed was an attorney

Phone: he told his employees to start towing them. i just happened to be the first unlucky one. Yet a towing company is not allowed to tow a car unless it IS illegally parked or blocking another vehicle. SO i get ahold of Cortez Towing and they tell me its going to cost me $295 yet i didnt plan on arguing the fact my car was only there for 5 hrs or so. They then proceeded to tell me THEY ONLY TAKE CASH AND THERE MACHINE IS BROKEN… THIS IS ILLEGAL. a law was passed stating that any towing company that has a unworking credit card machine is not allowed to operate or charge there customers until the machine is fixed..not to mention its just not allowed. if this does happen the plaintiff can receive up to 4X the amount paid out in cash. As i was driving to pick up my car i saw a employee painting the curb red
