David Habercom – Sebastien Bonfin Roy Utah

Complaint: I responded to an ad in the craigslist CNG auto section in the Raliegh, NC area regarding a 1999 Honda Civic for sale for $2,500. The ad had a VIN# that I verified on Carfax. I received a couple of emails from the seller, David Habercom, telling me that the car was at an ebay warehouse in San Jose, CA and they would handle the transaction because he was short on time. I agreed to use ebay. He said he’d contact them and ebay would then contact me. I received an official looking email from the email address: [email protected] The email had a case id# and fax number. Everything looked official. The method of payment to be used was through a Money Gram Office. The email said that the seller would not receive any money until I received the car and had 3 days to inspect the car. The car was to be shipped to me by DAS Auto Transport; which is a valid company. I contacted ebay and that is not a valid ebay email address. Ebay would use paypal, not money gram. And according to the Money Gram Office website a person would be able to pick up money 10 minutes after the sender sends it. I also found this same car ad on multiple Craigslist websites throughout the US. Khiggi1369 Roy, UtahU.S.A.
