Complaint: Me and my wife bought a 2006 tl with 32k miles, and from day one the car was running rough. We took the car to hendrick acura to have the rough idle diagnosed, as it was under the manufactures warranty. I got a call later that day and the service adviser told me that there was a broken motor mount and they would replace it under warranty. They also said that the radiator was after market and the car MAY have been overheated. but they didn’t know for sure. My wife came to pick up the car and she immediately noticed that the car was running very rough. they had the service manager come out and tell her that all acura tl’s run rough like that. After a few weeks the car did not idle any better and we also noticed a coolant leak from the cylinder head, so we took it back in and were once again told there was nothing wrong with the car. They said that the coolant was residual and they cleaned it off. So we took the car. When I got home I looked under the car and saw more coolant leaking, I took it back to acura and was told yet again that nothing was wrong. I realized that Hendrick acura Had no intention of properly diagnosing my car so I finally took it to Flow Acura. They did a cylinder leak down test and found that the head gasket was blown. When they removed the head they found a copper head gasket fix material in all the coolant passages. Because of the copper stuff they would not cover the repair under warranty, and because I was messing with Hendrick acura for so long. It was too late to go back to where I bought the car. So now I am going to be stuck with a bill for a new engine. Hendrick Acura does not care if your car is properly repaired or safe to drive, the fact is if they don’t want to fix the problem they will tell you it is normal. No matter how dangerous the problem ma be, or how much it may cost you down the line.
