Kia – Glendale, CA Duarte California

Complaint: I bought a new 2006 Kia Spectra EX from Kia Glendale, thinking the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty was quite a great selling point. However, after several regularly scheduled oil changes and in keeping with the terms of the warranty, my check engine light came on at 17,000 and I took my car into the dealer to be checked over. I was told that I needed a tune-up that would cost me $250+ and that I would have to pay $90 to have the check engine light turned off. I have spoken with my regular mechanic as well as looked through my warranty manual and for the dealer to suggest a tune-up at 17,000 miles was completely ridiculous. When I asked about the warranty, I was told on everything I needed, that “it’s not covered””. Then what the heck IS covered? This is unacceptable business behavior (though seemingly typical of auto dealers)
