am writing regarding the LA Fitness Brandon Location. nCopies sent to LA Brandon and 2 sets to individuals at Home Office nI joined as a member a year ago and have just been witness to so many declines in the quality, maintenance and service (attitude) in general. I actively am there 10 to 12 hours a week, met a lot of great people/friends but am detail oriented. I am realistic in knowing about the economy and money saving requirements to survive as I am in upper management of multi-property hotels. We have drastically cut in every area possible that does not affect our guests. It seems your one specific operation has little to no concern for the customer however. Some of your cost cutting endeavors have created quite a stir with many members. I hope you take this as constructive and not as a complainer even though some seem so minor I am sure to management. nSomeone has decided to have a female attendant do weekend cleaning with no regard to the males. She is very nice and polite, but in the locker room at 8 am (used to be 9am until recently). Now at opening, you have to change in the stalls for privacy and not the locker room. Prior you had to keep a towel on and time when you could change. I have asked if a male does the cleaning of the female’s locker area and was assured never. As I have been in the sauna, I can not help but notice as guys come in to relieve themselves and turn around with irritation and go back out since it averages her 50 minutes to clean the areas. nAt one time, we counted 14 machines out of order or not working. Many have been reported but no repairs done. Some do not post signs that they do not function properly. A few examples are: Inclines not working on treadmills, Handles for heart rate completely gone or broken, pedal straps broken, Broken or missing weight pins, wrong size weight pins in the machines. I actually witnessed one man rip off the weight pin off of the machine adjacent since the one he wished to use was missing it. (How expensive is it to replace missing or wrong sized pins to stop the vandalizing of other equipment.) Many of these items have been broken for over a month including 2 televisions. nThe Jacuzzi was not heating properly and reported on a Monday, it was repaired the Thursday one week later. My hotels Jacuzzi is repaired the following day so as not to inconvenience our guests. nRemoving the suit dryer when, as reported, it was only the switch that was bad. I witnessed a few times, people actually sit on the lid to make it connect and run properly. What a hazard and potential lawsuit! nWater Cooler still not repaired from 8 months ago. nSince I have not seen another LA Fitness, I have to assume this must have been a prototype with all the peculiar problems this building has. In the beginning the odors from sewage were disgusting but have been much improved. The corrosions on the metals at the pool, the burned/deteriorated lighting in the sauna, the shower lights and fixtures so full of rust, the leaks and rotted drywall in the pool area, the tile around the men’s urinals, the blocked open doors in the bike/jazzercise rooms due to lack of air conditioning and carpeting on a locker room flooring (impossible to keep bacteria free) to mention a few items. nLighting deserves its own special mention also: ntIn your grand lobby, 3 out of 7 lights burned out. ntIn the pool area, 10 ceiling lights burned out ntIn the men’s showers, lights burned out nExterior: ntYour main dome has 2 lights out and the front and sides are missing 4 additional lights. nt6 trees are dead or have only a branch of green from the bases, eroded mulching, exposed pipes and broken sprinklers (and this is a new building)t nSadly these issues above and below are just cost of business and logic to running an impressive show: ntTrashed parking lots at the end of the evening, blowing everywhere for the next day ntWeights, discarded water bottles, tissues, locker rooms in disarray ntThe floor matting is hardly removed, cleaned and the flooring under them is extremely dirty ntJacuzzi with suds and dirt rings ntSoap empty in showers ntNo hand towels in restroom areas or at exercise stations in the mornings ntFilthy air handling return vents throughout the property nJust curious, but why not have your late shift all pitch in to assure your property presents itself well at opening, or why someone does not come in to tidy before the guests arrival? nFinally, I must comment on the employees’ overall attitudes. I brought almost every single detail to the attention of your associates. It was a joke as they would tell me what all the issues were! They all referred them to the manager. I confronted her and she informed me to call home office as her control is minimal. There was no concern or caring, no consoling or attempt at resolve. The amount of turn over is probably an indicator of the attitude we witness daily. Upon calling your home office, I was told no email existed to send pictures and proof and I got messages but when I returned calls, the persons were not available.
