Complaint: My mother a 77 year old recently widowed and with significant hearing loss, brought her 1993 Linoln in to have an oil change done. After waiting for the car for over and hour she stated that the service representative said something was wrong with her car and they would they would need to keep it longer. She asked how long it would be and they offered her a loaner car for the day. When she went to pick up the car her bill was over $600!!! She never said anything because she was embarassed. She had just been ripped off and didn’t want to deal with it. Later that evening she brought it up to us, her children. She said that they had told her something was wrong with the car and she thought they had said it was the brakes, but she couldn’t find anything on they paperwork saying what was wrong. We looked over the paperwork only to find that they had sold her over $350 of check up. Then they serviced her car (chng oil, transimssion fuel, differential fluid…) all to the tune of another $300+ charge. She never requested this service, and was lead to believe that there was a problem with her car and that care was needed. They never bothered to tell her what they were doing or how much it was going to cost!!! This bill was over half of my mothers monthly income is reduced due to my fathers passing. It is hard to conceive that these people would be so thoughtless and uncaring. We did contact them and spoke with the service manager who offered a good will gesture of $100 back to my mother. But when we spoke with the General Manager, he was in disbelief that the Service Manager would even offer us that much, since they believe they did nothing wrong. This was mothers first venture out into the world without my father and this is the reception that she gets…If this company is going to do this to her how many others have they done this to.
