Warning do NOT do business with the following stores, especially Payless Optical, Springfield, MO, but including the entire EyeglassOutlets.com family of stores (Factory Eyeglass, Payless Optical, Factory Eyeglass Outlet, National Optical Warehouses, NOW Optical Outlets, Marco Pharmacy and Optical, and Dr. Scott’s Optical) across the USA. These businesses are apparently owned by Ophthalmic Management Company, with offices in Port Washington, NY and Omaha, NE. nOn April 28, 2009 I went to Payless Optical, S. Campbell Springfield, MO as a returning customer due to having fallen and a lens fell out of my glasses. Upon examination of the glasses Dr. Mac determined they are shot and I obtained a new prescription from him and asked that they replace the lens at least temporarily. (I had to return within minutes due to the lens falling back out.) nI had a 80th anniversary coupon and asked to apply it on my order for new glasses. Although they refused the coupon I ordered glasses anyway then was shocked when they demanded the full price to be paid right then as always before only had to pay a deposit of around . They said they would call me when the glasses were in and it would be 10-14 days. nWhen I didn’t get a call by the 14th day I sent an email to who I thought was the Payless Optical store itself as I had had a response to an e mail regarding going in for repairs. On a strange delayed email time I heard from Adam Sandman, who said the coupon was not honored due to my having not ordered scratch coat. I had ordered and paid $20 extra for scratch coat. He said the glasses were in and the store had called. (I had given them voice mail number in addition to home phone and no one had called.) nI live approximately 200 miles round trip from the store thus I didn’t want to drive there if the glasses possibly had a scratch or still needed scratch coat. nThey then ignored my questions regarding that and wanted to focus on still claiming they called. After a series of more e mails with weird times for them I actually had one that arrived with a normal time, the guy said he was in Washington and that pursuant to an earlier e mail the refund was being prepared. I had not asked for a refund for further delays NOR had he sent an email regarding any refund. (Four hours later an e mail with time of 1:19 p.m. arrived stating in two weeks a refund would be sent and that I was not to go to the store nor call we want nothing to do with you.) Meanwhile I had faxed to the store manager and Dr. Mac asking for their intervention to resolve the problem. NO RESPONSE except for the delayed e mail noted above. nSo they have $245.70 of my money that they plan to use and keep for another two weeks (have already had and used my money for nearly 3 weeks) and I have to suffer with daily headaches and glasses that are out of alignment and could break again at any time. I have not even been making $245.70 per month and certainly could not afford to be robbed like they have done. Total insane, mental cruelty. nPayless Optical is not even registered with MO to do business in Springfield, Mo nor is Ophthalmic Management Company registered to do business in Missouri and furthermore Eyeglass Outlets is not registered to do business in Missouri. nV.M.nCedar County, MissouriU.S.A.
