Complaint: I took my GMC truck to Pep Boys here in Las Vegas in April of 2004. They stated it needed an intake manifold gasket replacement; which would cost $360.00, instead of the original estimate of repair of $125.00. After having it for a couple of days (which was suppose to be done that same day) and numerous phone calls to this store with no response; I finally took my truck home. Within less than a week my truck was overheating and stopping in the middle of the road. It was towed back to Pep Boys. It stayed there another day with no call from anyone. I called numerous times, and was always put on hold, and then eventually hung up on. The reason my truck had died in the middle of the road, was because they never changed the oil after they installed the gasket. The result was a blown engine. I talked to the manager, and he admitted his crew had neglected to do the oil change. He stated he would get back to corporate about the status of my case. After repeated calls, he finally tells me (a month a half later), they would give me half of the repair cost, and pay me $600.00 towards the replacement of my engine, which is estimated at over $2,500.00. I said this was not acceptable; and I have been fighting with them ever since. I now have a small claims suit pending in July. Stay away from Pep Boys. They do not care about you or your vehicle. All they all looking for is to “rip you off””!!!!!! Sandy Henderson
