Complaint: Like a lot of other new car buyers, I got talked into buying an expensive extended warrantee policy. I purchased this policy, however, only after the General Manager assured me that it covers everything bumper to bumper- just like the factory warrantee policy. While driving down the highway at 55 mph in May of 2006, the engine went completely out of our well maintained, 62,000 mile, one owner, 2002 Discovery. No lights or buzzers, it just stopped cold. I called the warrantee people and a few days later they had it towed to Land Rover Tulsa to be repaired. I spent the next 10 MONTHS getting the run-around and hearing every excuse in the book. Finally I had heard enough and I gave them one more week to repair our car or I’ll get real nasty about this. I let two weeks go by and when I called they just flat-out REFUSED to honor my policy! The management of Land Rover Tulsa tried to convince me that virtually all other claims are approved and those Land Rovers are good as new and back on the road in just a few days. Wow! I must be unique! Our family owns 4 Land Rovers at the time of this writing. So don’t think I have anything against the car maker. We purchased 3 of our Land Rovers from the Tulsa Dealership in the last 3 years. That must make us pretty good customers, you’d think. I wonder how they treat the customers who only bought one or two vehicles every three years? On March 28th, 2007 I finally drove back to the dealership (190 miles from our home), and loaded up our old Discovery and trailered her away. On the drive home I thought you know, I’ll bet I’m not the only one. Won’t you join me in making sure these ba****ds are held accountable for their actions? How many other Land Rover owners in the Tulsa area have had something like this happen to them? Cheated! Tulsa, OklahomaU.S.A.
